MamyPoko Ads
Started from the first series of Mamypoko Indonesian Ads that I've worked on, that is Photograph and later continued by Pelican, Baby Gym, Bubble, Holiday Beach Ball, Drum, 20 Times, and Cloud Pampers.
The animation production included creating 3D mascot - Poko Chan, pack model, logo animation, digital compositing and special effects.
Challenges.
This project page showcases the series of Mamypoko TV commercials that I've worked on during my tenure at Epics FX Studios, Jakarta.
It was really challenging yet exciting, since this is my first solo project handling all the 3D animated scenes and special effect in these ads. What more challenging was the fact that this is a global brand, and every country has their own version of Poko Chan, so having compared with another countries' version, the mascot should really be decent.

I was responsible for all the animated scene in this mamypoko TV commercial videos. Starting from making the 3D character from scratch to digitally composited them with real shot scene into the complete TVC final video.

BRIEF CONCEPT
Logo Animation.
Above is the 3D logo model. One of the first task I got for this Mamypoko project was to create the logo animation for every opening Mamypoko TV commercial. The concept, provided by clients, was to have the orange and yellow dots above the word 'M' to interact and kiss each other (later followed with smooch sound effect).
3D Mascot.
The second phase was to create the 3D mascot model of PokoJang. It was challenging to get the approval from Japan client, since they have the quality standard of this worldwide mascot. This version of PokoJang is not too small or young, because it was mostly represented Mamypoko pants which is not for newborn baby. Textured soft and white like a cotton.

'Bubbles'
Among all the MamyPoko ads or TVC version that I've ever worked, by far, this is my most favorite one :D The poko chan did not have much accessories on the 3D model. However this was a really interesting project, because I also got an opportunity to create 3D bubbles and I still remembered the confusion I had on how to make it. But after several trials and error, revision and rendering, I finally got the results I want including the wobbly animation and bursting bubble visual effect.

'Pelican'
In this 'Pelican' version, I was responsible for the 3D scenes, including model, 3D pack, ribbon and character animation. I really liked making the cute wings and pelican costume. While it was challenging on creating the ribbon animation, it's fun in this project.

'Holiday Beach Ball'
Creating 3D pokoChan with another props for this Holiday Beach Ball version, was as usual, very interesting. After couples of series, I have been more used to do it. It would get faster on the process since the vibes were developed already. Nevertheless, Mamypoko TVC projects were always my happy gigs to do while working on the long term projects like TV series and feature film.

'Baby Gym'
Mamypoko commercial on Baby Gym version, here I was responsible to create the animation as usual. However this time the 3D PokoChan/ PokoJang model is not complicated. The props to be added was only sport cap and whistle.

'Photograph'
This actually was also a very special project for me, since this was my first solo project in the company after my internships were ended. I was really nervous on making some mistakes in this project. Scared to not be good enough or whether my animation or 3D model will not be accepted by Japanese client. But I was so happy when everything worked smoothly and there it began after, my other journey to the series of Mamypoko TV commercials.

'Drum'
In this version, I didn't do much other than creating the 3D model of PokoChan and their props. The concept was marching band, so the props needed to be made were the cute tall hat with 3 feathers and hanging drum.

'20 Times'
In this project, I was only responsible to create the 3D poko character and packs, as well as some animation scene. Together with other colleague who was tasked to make the water simulation and other animation scene, we were finally able to deliver the projects.

Among all the mamypoko TVC series, this was the first time that I have to make the 3D model of pampers. It was really challenging to create a realistic 3D model, with the right texture, shape, bump, form and lighting. Other than that, there was 3D effect of smoke shaped as arrow, animated to represent the smooth flow of air on the pampers.
