Bit Technology

Introducing fiber optic technology into everyday's life, BIT Teknologi Nusantara aims to continuously develop great communication infrastructure and solutions to modern life and smart city.

This motion graphic project aims to convey that message with a bit of visual appeal.

It was challenging to create the concept art and style without any preferences from the client. So what I need to do was to learn and understand the product, company and more information about fiber optic and smart city. Then created several design proposal, as well as the color tone and illustration style to the client.

The big amount of illustrations needed for creation also really exciting. I gained more skill by practicing new vector style and getting faster each time I created more illustration.

Roles.

I worked on this project together with my friend, Frans Soliptio. My parts in this were concept art, creative direction and vector illustration, up to initial animation for motion graphic. After that, the final post-editing was passed onto my team mate.

Tools.

Adobe After Effect, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Drawing Pen, Pencil and Paper.

Concept Development.

First things that I did for this project was to find out and doodling around in vector illustration style, since the client did not have any special preferences. However, simple and clear illustration was one of the brief for this project, so I propose with some alternative and some mood color for the video tone just like below images.

Below were some of the other work in progress that I have developed further to a more colorful art direction. Some with a more dull colorful and others with more limited pallet color.

Vector Illustrations.

Following clients feedback, they prefer something more simple in terms of color and video tone. So based on the logo palette which is kinda bluish vibe, I change the whole tone and illustration into blue color and its variation. However, I still use a bit of colorful bright hue as a design accent to enrich the motion graphic visual, so it's not too boring or monotone. Below are some examples for the vector style, more could be seen in the screenshots section.

3D Illustrations.

Here's some screenshot of the 3D smart city illustration for this project. The initial base was first created by my teammate and then I was responsible to edit, re-topology and completed the final touch.
